The land where the current Return Point stands has long been reserved for the development of the bus and tram workshop in the area.

While waiting for the new recycling, the municipality's attempt to find a temporary replacement has proved to be a challenge.

- We must find a place that will work for traffic flows, location in the city, detailed plans, size, disturbance to the environment, soil conditions and more, says Anders Karlsson, business area manager for waste at Nodra.

The municipality's two best alternatives for a temporary return point, along Lindövägen and Fiskebyvägen, respectively, have met with opposition.

- We have had all the setbacks, poisoned land, appeals of our building permit application and unfortunately we have also encountered ancient remains that need to be investigated.

The municipality is now considering extending the opening hours at other Return Points in Åby, Skärblacka, Krokek and eastern Husby and also making the facility in Åby slightly larger.
