It was on the evening of February 22 this year that the police, after an alarm about a suspected shooting near the cathedral in Västerås, found a shot man with life-threatening injuries.

A major police operation was launched, among other things to secure tracks and hold interrogations.

According to the police, they quickly found out the name of a suspected perpetrator.

He was arrested, detained and later arrested.

During the spring, the National Forensic Center, NFC, analyzed the empty shell casings and weapons found in the area.

The DNA that was found on several parts of the weapon and on a cartridge has been found to match the arrested man.

He has previously, through his lawyer, said that he is innocent.

This is what it looked like in the area early in the morning after the incident in February:
