A man, aged about sixty, was arrested and taken into custody on June 9 in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), report the police services of the Pyrénées-Orientales.

Investigations led the police to search the suspect's apartment on the ground floor of a small building.

The accommodation contained, according to the police, a "real supermarket" for drugs.

About 50,000 euros in cash seized

The sixty-year-old is suspected of having transformed his garage into a cultivation of cannabis plants, with all the necessary equipment.

The police say they seized around 50,000 euros in cash, 310 grams of cocaine, equipment and a weapon.

During his hearing, the man, without a profession, would have admitted to engaging in drug resale for about three years, police said.
