An application submitted by the FDP district executive received 157 out of 204 valid votes in the Waldstadion on Sunday, which corresponds to 76.9 percent.

After the FDP had rejected the coalition agreement two and a half weeks ago, it was provided with a "declaration" in which the FDP clarified its positions, in particular on the issues of municipal finances, transport and how to deal with autonomous centers of the left-wing scene in Frankfurt.

From the perspective of the Liberals, this additional declaration should be “decisive” if the positions formulated in it and the content of the coalition agreement differ from one another.

A motion submitted by a group of party members around MEP Nicola Beer and the former Frankfurt party chairman Hans-Joachim Otto, in which it was requested that the Greens, SPD and Volt should expressly follow these guidelines, had previously been rejected by a large majority.

The Frankfurt FDP chairman Thorsten Lieb described the so-called declaration as "fixed and binding".

The other coalition members should know that for the Liberals this is “the crystal clear red line”.
