In the clip, you hear chief physician Marit Gustafsson tell what more resources for BUP in the county are starting to have for the children.

- In the first place, we notice that we can hire more staff.

This means that we can receive more children and that the time for both investigation and treatment is shortened, says Marit Gustafsson, chief physician at BUP in Jönköping.

In April last year, approximately 20 percent of the children received a visit to BUP within 30 days in accordance with the national care guarantee.

The same figure in April this year was just over 50 percent.

Most awaiting investigation was at the turn of the year 2019/2020 when more than 450 children were in line.

Today, that number is down to around 100.

May come additional money 2022

For several years, the Jönköping County region has been the region that has invested the least money per child in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Last year, approximately SEK 1,000 was added to personnel costs per inhabitant aged 0-17, compared with the national average of SEK 1,400.

With this year's addition of 30 million, you start to crawl upwards.

The most recent twelve-month period is the corresponding amount of SEK 1,150.

Next year, the proposal is an additional SEK 10 million for child and adolescent psychiatry in the county.

- We work as best we can with the funds we receive, but of course more resources make a difference to our opportunities to help children in the region, says Marit Gustafsson.
