Eva Julin (M) submitted a proposal to the Hofors City Council.
She and the Moderates wanted to see that food that the municipality buys should come from Swedish farms, be produced according to Swedish rules and thus ensure that it comes more from local companies.
But making demands on the municipality to buy local food is not possible according to the law on public procurement.
A new plan will now be introduced in Hofors for the municipality to shop more locally.
