In December 1927, the Guangzhou armed uprising that shocked China and foreign countries broke out, but it failed because of the disparity in power.

After Zhou Wenyong led some armed uprisings to break through, he returned to Guangzhou with Chen Tiejun in January of the following year to rebuild the party’s organs and carry out revolutionary work.

However, due to the betrayal of the traitors, the two were arrested by the enemy, and they remained unyielding after being subjected to various tortures.

The enemy had nothing to do and decided to sentence them to death.

In the course of the struggle, Zhou Wenyong and Chen Tiejun developed love, but for the revolutionary cause, they have always buried their feelings in their hearts.

At the last moments of their lives, they decided to make it public and held the revolutionary wedding on the enemy’s execution ground.

The classic film "The Wedding on the Execution Ground" tells the story of the two.
