“In general, it is not clear why an official of his level is engaged in political statements, instead of actually solving the complex problems that have developed in the gas market in Ukraine.
The issue of the completion of Nord Stream 2 should not be linked with some kind of theoretical military “threat” for Ukraine.
It is precisely this question that should be generally considered on the basis of other considerations.
It is Ukraine that poses a threat to natural gas supplies to the countries of the European Union, ”he added.
At the same time, the expert emphasized that Nord Stream 2 is a safe route that “does not depend on the changeable mood of Kiev”.
“That is, in essence, Russia provides energy security to Europe.
Therefore, I think that the statements of Mr. Vitrenko are inadequate and do not correspond to the real state of affairs, ”the specialist explained.
Earlier Vitrenko said that the completion of the construction of the Russian gas pipeline "Nord Stream - 2" allegedly could lead to the start of a full-scale war.
He added that the US withdrawal of sanctions against Nord Stream 2 could negatively affect pro-Western sentiments in many countries of Eastern Europe, including Ukraine.
