On the eve of the meeting of the incumbent US President Joe Biden with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the ex-head of the White House, Donald Trump, said that Washington was at a disadvantage due to the scandal around the "Russian trace" initiated by representatives of the Democratic Party.

"Due to the falsification with the" Russian trace ", invented and paid for by the Democrats and the Corrupt Hillary Clinton, the United States found itself in a disadvantage - from which I, however, managed to get them out," MEDIA.

At the same time, Trump called high-ranking representatives of the intelligence community who held their posts during his time in power as "scoundrels."

According to him, the answer to the question of whom he trusts - Russia or the US "intelligence" inherited from Obama, "should be obvious."

“In our government, such worthless people have rarely worked,” added Trump.

In his statement, the 45th President of the United States also mentioned Biden and admonished him before meeting with the President of Russia.

"I wish Biden good luck with President Putin - stay awake at the meeting and convey my best wishes!"

- said in a statement by the ex-head of the White House.

It is worth noting that it was Trump who called Biden Sleepy Joe, and in the summer of 2019 described him as the most "mentally weak" among the Democratic presidential candidates.

The former American leader also recalled that when he was president, he had a meeting with Vladimir Putin in the Finnish capital, which he called "excellent" and "very productive."

“Despite the belated coverage of the meeting by fake media, the United States gained a lot from it, including respect from President Putin and Russia,” Trump said.

We will remind, on June 16 in Geneva talks will be held between the leaders of Russia and the United States.

According to the Kremlin press service, the summit will discuss "the state and prospects of further development of Russian-American relations, strategic stability issues, as well as topical issues on the international agenda."

At the same time, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said on the air of Channel One that this meeting was "very, very important", but "it would be wrong to fall into some kind of inflated expectations."

Before the summit

It is worth noting that against the background of the preparation of the parties for the upcoming meeting, Joe Biden and representatives of his administration regularly make confrontational statements about Russia.

“We are not looking for a conflict with Russia,” Biden said June 9 during a meeting with the US military upon arrival in the UK.

"We want a stable and predictable relationship ... but I am trying to make it clear that if the Russian authorities engage in harmful activities, the United States will respond in a tough and effective manner."

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with Axios said that the meeting between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin is necessary for Washington to "directly and clearly" tell the Russian leader what he can expect from the United States if the Russian Federation continues its allegedly "aggressive" actions against USA.

He also said that the White House is ready to build bilateral contacts with Moscow if it "chooses a different course."

In turn, the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin, speaking during a hearing in the US Senate Committee on Armed Services, said that the budget request for the 2022 fiscal year "aims to help the Department of Defense counter the Russians, especially in cyberspace."

Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that ties between Moscow and Washington "to a certain extent have become hostages of internal political processes in the United States itself."

He stated this during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), commenting on US-Russian relations.

“I hope that it will end one day, bearing in mind that fundamental interests in the field of at least security, strategic stability and the reduction of weapons dangerous for the whole world are still more important than the current domestic political situation in the United States itself,” the Russian leader emphasized. ...

Later, during a meeting with the chief editors of world news agencies, Putin noted that it was not Russia that “drove” the contacts between Moscow and Washington into their current state.

“We did not take a single step first in what was damaging Russian-American relations,” he stressed.

"Losing strategy"

According to Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, despite the fact that Donald Trump, as President of the United States, made some efforts to normalize relations with Russia, due to opposition from the Democrats, he failed to do so.

“Now the current administration has found itself in a dead end.

Biden brought the situation to an even worse state for America.

He aggravated relations with the Russian Federation and the PRC at the same time.

The United States is now engaged in containment on two fronts.

And this is an extremely losing strategy.

Biden is only consolidating the actions of Moscow and Beijing even more, driving himself into a corner and depriving himself of room for maneuver, "the expert said in a conversation with RT.

Political analyst Alexander Asafov recalled that intelligence was also involved in the opposition of the Democrats to Trump and his attempts to improve relations with Moscow.

“The 45th President of the United States is still seriously offended by the American intelligence community, which led several investigations against him, suspecting links with Russia.

However, nothing of the kind has been proven.

Now intelligence is on Biden's side, and this makes the ex-head of the White House even more angry, "he said in a commentary to RT.

In turn, Konstantin Blokhin drew attention to the fact that before the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States, Donald Trump "is openly making fun of Biden."

“The issue of the health of the current American head and the level of his concentration was raised and continues to be raised not only by the 45th President of the United States.

Americans see that the new head of the White House really has memory problems, sometimes he formulates phrases inaccurately and does a lot of extraordinary things that journalists and everyone else notice, ”he said.

According to Vladimir Batyuk, head of the Center for Political-Military Studies at the Institute for the United States and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 20 years ago it was impossible to imagine that a representative of the US opposition party in this way "admonished" the head of the White House before meeting with the leader of a foreign state.

“It was beyond the bounds then.

It is now the norm in US political life.

And this is another indication of how much the country is split, ”the expert said in an interview with RT.

At the same time, Blokhin, in turn, explained that Trump "now flashes before his eyes" his own experience of successful negotiations with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki and the negative that he had to endure after arriving in Washington.

“After all, then he became a target for harsh criticism from the Democrats.

And then the members of the Democratic Party, in fact, sabotaged Trump's entire political line, ”the analyst said.

According to experts, before the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, the anti-Russian rhetoric on the part of the American authorities only intensified.

“Washington makes harsh statements related to Russia, and places emphasis on topics other than those where there are points of contact between the Russian Federation and the United States.

All this does not contribute to the creation of any kind of friendly atmosphere before the summit, and all the more does not contribute to the successful conduct of negotiations, "Blokhin believes.

According to his forecasts, the summit of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States "can be held in a rather tough format."

“Neither side harbors illusions and hopes about this meeting.

The atmosphere in front of her is heating up.

The United States is increasingly demonstrating that it wants to impose on the world a new paradigm, a new bloc system: the division of the world, conditionally, into a democracy league led by the United States and consisting of supposedly democratic freedom-loving states, and an axis of evil against which this league will fight and to which Washington counts including Russia and China, "- said the expert.

As Batiuk stressed, regular and unfounded reminders to the Americans by representatives of the Democratic Party and the US administration about "bad Russia" have an extremely negative impact on bilateral relations between Moscow and Washington.

“This creates a very unfavorable general political climate not just for meetings between the leaders of the two countries, but for real cooperation in the areas that are important for the states. Even if we assume that as a result of the upcoming meeting between Putin and Biden, Russian-American negotiations on the limitation of nuclear weapons will begin and some kind of document will be developed to replace the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START III), it is still unclear how the future agreement will pass through the American the Senate with its clear anti-Russian sentiments, ”the analyst concluded.
