U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blincoln had a phone call with Yang Jiechi, a member of the Politburo for Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China.

At the G7 summit, it is analyzed that China has shown a sensitive response as the US-led efforts to restore the alliance focused on China's containment are being discussed.

The foreign ministers of the two countries clashed over an issue over the phone call.

According to the U.S. State Department, Secretary of State Blincoln stressed that "China must transparently cooperate in determining the origin of the coronavirus."

It was reported that the two Politburo members responded by saying, "I urge you not to politicize the issue of the origin of COVID-19 and to focus on international quarantine cooperation."

Regarding the Taiwan issue, when Blincoln mentioned that "China should stop its policy of pressure and resolve the issue peacefully," Yang said, "Taiwan is a part of China." I hope that they will protect it and handle the Taiwan issue carefully."

In addition, Politburo Yang said, "True multilateralism is a 'small circle'.It should be based on the principles of the UN Charter and international law, not fake multilateralism based on the interests of the G7,” he said, expressing his uneasy feelings about the G7 summit.

According to the US State Department, the two foreign heads of state also discussed the Biden administration's comprehensive North Korea policy.

It is said that the two foreign ministers have talked for the first time since they met in Alaska, the US in March.
