With the start of the European Nations Championship (Euro 2020) for teams starting today, Friday, followers are wondering about the financial compensation that each team will receive, and what the winner of the title will earn after the final match scheduled for next July 11.

The current version of the euro, which was scheduled last year and was postponed due to the Corona pandemic, will be the largest in terms of financial revenues that will be distributed to the participating teams.

According to press reports, the European Football Association (UEFA) will distribute 331 million euros to the 24 teams participating in the tournament, an increase of more than 30 million euros over the amount distributed during the previous edition (Euro 2016) that took place in France.

UEFA had intended to distribute 371 million euros, but the amount was reduced due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic.

All teams participating in the first round will receive 9.24 million euros, and this value will increase according to the results of each team and its progress in the competition to reach 34 million euros for the winner of the title.

Portugal received 28 million euros after winning Euro 2016, while the French team won 32.5 million euros after winning the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
