INTERVIEW

It aims to democratize responsible vacations.

With his online travel agency fairmoove.fr, Jean-Pierre Nadir wants to place ecology at the heart of the choice of holiday destination.

Invited from Europe Evening the day after the launch of his website, the co-founder assures us that "tourism is at the heart of all the [ecological] challenges of our century, and that it can be a formidable lever".

While "70% of the French aspire to find more eco-responsible products", the co-founder of this travel agency "selects all the products which have a positive action in a CSR approach, that is to say responsible and social ".

More responsible airlines

A choice that begins with transport to the resort. "We are going to favor virtuous airlines, with eco-flight programs, which have less taxiing on the ground or green taxiing, with electric batteries in the wheels" of the planes, he explains. The travel agency also targets direct flights, in order to fight against "the heresy of stopovers, the cost of which is paid by our planet".

And the ambition of green tourism does not stop there, because the hotels are also scrutinized by the 50 experts of fairmoove.fr.

Thus the agency "selected 5,000" from around the world.

Establishments which have a "strategy on plastic, on energy, on water treatment, but also on food waste, since 30% of [world] food production goes to the trash," recalls Jean-Pierre Nadir .

Between "800 and 1,200 euros per week"

While tourism "was built on a discourse which infantilised the customer", vis-à-vis ecological questions, Jean-Pierre Nadir also wants to inform his customers of the ecological impact of their trips.

This is why it has set up a carbon meter on its site.

"If you take a flight to Greece, it's 600 kg of carbon footprint. But you can absorb it by planting trees."

As for the price, fairmoove.fr is in the "intermediate range", further assures its co-founder.

"We have weeks in three or four star hotels between 800 and 1,200 euros a week, transport included."

The agency also undertakes to reimburse the difference, if by chance the price drops between purchase and departure.
