As noted, earlier, the British Embassy in Moscow said that during the G7 summit it is planned to develop specific measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 and provide access to vaccines around the world.

The leaders of the G7 countries are expected to provide at least 1 billion doses of vaccines for this.

“First of all, we very much welcome this.

Just a few weeks ago, we couldn't imagine this would happen.

But it is obvious that we need something more, ”Guterres said at a press conference.

He also said that “bilateral forms of support” and concerted efforts are needed to overcome the pandemic.

The UN Secretary General stressed the need for a global vaccination plan.

“To make this happen ... we need all the countries that play an important role in vaccine production ... to come together and create an emergency working group to ensure that this global vaccination plan is developed and implemented,” Guterres said.

Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on the G7 countries to vaccinate the world by the end of 2022.
