Very high bacterial levels - the municipality advises against swimming in Lake Vättern

- Both children, adults and animals can get sick from these bacteria.

It can manifest itself in different ways, but for example stomach illness and fever can be symptoms, says operations and plant manager Thomas Martinsson, in the press release.

The current bathing sites are: Torpa sand, Råssnäsbadet, Varamobaden, Pariserviken and Jerusalembadet.

Water quality is measured three times a year and in the latest measurement, high or very high levels of e-coli bacteria, coliform bacteria and intestinal enterococci were measured.

The municipality will put up signs at the bathing sites and take new water samples. The recommendation is valid until the test results are positive.
