Rome Mosque and Islamic Confederation: "It is not faith, inhumane honor codes"

The story of Saman Abbas "has absolutely no religious reasons, but refers to ancestral and tribal traditions that have been imported from distant, misogynistic and sexist contexts, contrary to the Italian and European legal order". This is what we read in a note sent to Aki - Adnkronos International, signed by the general secretary of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy, Abdellah Radouane, and by the general secretary of the Italian Islamic Confederation, Abdellah M. Cozzolino.

"A chain of pain, shame and despair. A subculture that comes from afar and that on inhuman 'codes of honor' finds the brute strength to hurt and even to kill. Blind violence that pushes to commit heinous and cowardly crimes on considered women as personal property. Incivility of family relationships often depicted with languages and themes that have nothing of the believer in God ". The "dramatic" case of Saman, they add, "cannot be interpreted and declined by resorting to religious opinions, but must only be framed within its criminal framework and judged with the legal instruments provided for by the Italian legal system. We want to be civil parties".
