Sundsvall coach Pär Ländin had high hopes that Prince Ruda would reap success on the trotting track - but that never happened.

In 2018, some loose bone fragments were discovered in the hoof during a routine visit to the veterinarian.

The pieces were to be operated on, but that day ended anything but happily.

An unsuccessful anesthesia at the clinic in Östersund meant that Prince Ruda was forced to be killed.

The clinic valued the trotter at SEK 150,000, which was paid to the owner Pär Ländin after the incident.

The district court has now decided that Ländin will be compensated with an additional SEK 150,000, as the value of the horse was higher than what the clinic calculated.
