June 10, 2021Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is the first finalist of the women's Roland Garros, the second seasonal Grand Slam underway on the Parisian clay court.

The Russian tennis player, seeded number 31, defeated the Slovenian Tamara Zidanšek in the semifinals with a score of 7-5 6-3.



In the second semifinal, the Czech Barbora Krejcíková defeated the Greek Maria Sakkari (17) by 7-5, 4-6, 9-7, after a marathon after three hours and 19 minutes.



The semifinals of the men's singles are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon: the German Alexander Zverev (6) faces the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (5), followed by the match between the Serbian Novak Djokovic (1) and the Spanish Rafael Nadal (3). It will be the 58th duel between the two champions: the overall balance is 29 wins to 28 in favor of the Serbian, but on clay the Spaniard dominates with 19 wins to 7.
