Fares in the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) will rise by an average of 1.5 percent on January 1 of next year.

A single trip from Frankfurt to Wiesbaden then costs 8.95 euros according to RMV information.

Currently, € 8.70 has to be paid for this route, from July 1st on € 8.80.

Then the tariff increase due on January 1st for the current year will come into force.

In order to pass on the temporary reduction in VAT to passengers, the RMV had postponed the tariff adjustment from January 1st to July 1st.

For example, users of the S-Bahn and U-Bahn were able to benefit from 2020 fares for six months longer.

The senior citizen ticket and the Hessen student ticket continue to cost 365 euros, the Hessenticket, which allows up to five people to travel through Hessen for a day, is still available for 36 euros.
