The Center Party has announced that they will go in the opposite direction to the Social Democrats on the issue of so-called ISK savings.

In the party's proposal, they want, among other things, to reduce the tax on the form of savings.

- We see no problems with a tax rebate for small savers, I think you can justify that.

On the other hand, if you have very large fortunes in ISK, you can ask yourself whether you should spend tax money on subsidizing them and giving tax rebates, says Magdalena Andersson.

She believes that the money should be used for something else instead, for what is important right now.

- We have many who have been waiting for operations that have been postponed during the pandemic.

Police must also have the resources to stop gang crime.

"An unreasonable discussion"

Some critics have said that there is already taxed money on ISK savings.

- Now some people seem to think that ordinary people who work, where you have to pay tax on your salary, while millionaires who have a return on their shares, they should not pay any tax on it.

It is an unreasonable discussion and would only further benefit the richest in society, says Magdalena Andersson.

The Social Democrats have not yet put forward any proposals on how the form of savings should be limited, but it is a topic that has created debate recently.
