Police have launched an investigation after a Korean man was assaulted by four unidentified men at a subway station in Berlin, Germany.



The four men are known to have assaulted indiscriminately, making xenophobic remarks, etc.



The Berlin Police Department's Criminal Investigation Service said on the 10th local time that they had begun an investigation into the four men.



According to the police, they approached a 35-year-old Korean man A, who was sitting on a bench at the subway station in Schoneberg at around 9:15 pm on the 9th, and argued, "Are you Chinese?"



Then, after making xenophobic and homophobic remarks to Mr. A, one person approached and slapped him in the face, and the other three were also kicked and assaulted.



Police said two out of four people answered that they were Turkish when Mr. A asked, "Where are you from?"



The four men fled after the crime.



In the attack, Mr. A suffered injuries to his face and legs, and his glasses were also damaged, police said.



The police secured a video recording of the subway station and called an ambulance so that A could receive treatment.
