China News Service, Toronto, June 10 (Reporter Yu Ruidong) Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau flew from the capital Ottawa to the UK on June 10 to attend the upcoming Group of Seven (G7) summit.

This is Trudeau's first foreign visit since the outbreak of the new crown.

  On the occasion of his departure, Trudeau said on the social networking platform that only by working together can we overcome the epidemic, create good job opportunities, tackle climate change, and build a better future for the people.

  The G7 summit is scheduled to be held in Cornwall, UK from June 11th to 13th.

This is also the first face-to-face meeting held by the leaders of the Group of Seven since 2019.

After that, Trudeau will go to Brussels, Belgium, to attend the NATO summit and the Canada-EU summit on June 14.

  In addition to Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union as members of the G7, leaders of Australia, India, South Africa and South Korea will also be invited to attend this year's G7 summit.

  Canadian officials stated that Trudeau and other members of the Canadian delegation will strictly abide by the requirements of public epidemic prevention measures during their visit and after returning home, including compulsory isolation in designated hotels immediately after returning home.

  Prior to this, Canadian Foreign Minister Garno, Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer Freeland successively visited foreign countries and attended the G7 Ministerial Meeting and other activities.

  The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the main topics of this year's G7 summit will include the new crown epidemic, climate change and China-related content.
