- If this had been any other building around here in the GävleDala region, you go to the site manager, greet and tell who you are and then you go through the safety routines and go out to the workplace to talk to workers and companies, says Kim Söderström, chairman of Byggnads GävleDala.

"Many come from Eastern European companies"

According to Byggnads, the two main contractors have subcontractors in several stages and where many of the construction workers come from Eastern Europe.

- You do not come here from the other side of the Baltic Sea on the premise that you are more expensive or better.

They are here because they are cheap in one way or another and then I get worried when I know that there is such a large proportion of foreign, Eastern European companies in the workplace, says Kim Söderström.

Microsoft responds by email

In an email to SVT Nyheter Gävleborg, representatives of Microsoft write: “All our suppliers need to manage their employments and employees in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Workers at Microsoft's construction site do not have a "mouthpiece".

During June, Byggnads tried to get in touch with workers' facilities in the region to provide information by handing out breakfast bags.

Building was allowed to enter the area - but not on the building itself.
