According to a new poll, the Green Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock has slumped drastically in the voters' reputation.

When asked who the citizens would prefer to be a chancellor, Baerbock fell behind Armin Laschet from the CDU and Olaf Scholz from the SPD in the ZDF “Politbarometer” published on Thursday.

In the party preference, the CDU / CSU rose by four points to 28 percent.

The Greens had to give up three points and landed at 22 percent.

In the survey, 28 percent of those questioned declared the Green candidate to be suitable for female chancellor;

at the last “Politbarometer” in May it was 43 percent.

Union candidate Laschet, on the other hand, received more support: 43 percent can now imagine him as Chancellor, after 37 percent in May.

SPD candidate Scholz had the strongest value with 48 percent, six points more than in May.

Defeat in an imaginary direct duel

Baerbock also falls behind in the direct comparison of the candidates for chancellor.

In a duel between Laschet and Baerbock, 59 percent would be for the Union candidate and 31 percent for the Greens.

A comparison between Scholz and Baerbock would give the SPD candidate 58 percent and the Green candidate 32 percent.

At the last “Politbarometer” in May, the candidates were only a few points apart.

However, his party, the SPD, cannot benefit from Scholz's popularity.

Compared to the last survey, it only increased by one point and came to 15 percent.

The AfD remains unchanged at eleven percent, the FDP falls by one point to ten percent.

“Die Linke” stagnates at seven percent.

Jens Spahn is also falling behind

In terms of sympathy and performance, Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) is still in first place.

On a scale from minus five to plus five, it comes to 2.2 (May: 2.1).

This is followed by the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) with 1.8 (May II: 1.8) and the CSU chairman Markus Söder with 1.4 (May: 1.2).

Olaf Scholz is in fourth place with 0.9 (May: 0.9).

This is followed by the Greens chairman Robert Habeck with a worsened 0.6 (May: 1.0) and Armin Laschet, who can advance into the midfield with 0.6 (May: 0.2).

The left-wing Sahra Wagenknecht landed on the other places with 0.3 (May: 0.1) and FDP chairman Christian Lindner also with 0.3 (May: 0.1).

Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) only comes to a value of 0.0 (May: 0.3). Green leader Baerbock has fallen back to last place with her worst value to date of minus 0.2 (May: 0.5).
