Invited Thursday from Europe 1, the LR president of the South region Renaud Muselier, candidate for his succession, exhausted his opponent, RN Thierry Mariani, criticizing his lack of local anchoring.

"He abandoned Vaucluse, he lives in Paris," he says.

INTERVIEW

In Paca, Renaud Muselier is in difficulty. President LR of the South region, candidate for his succession in the next regional elections, is lagging behind in the polls. According to a recent survey by the Ipos Sopra Steria institute for France 3, with 34% of the vote, he would be largely ahead in the first round by RN Thierry Mariani (41%). And the ex-LR now close to Marine Le Pen is given the winner in the second round "in all cases". Should this be seen as a failure of Muselier's strategy, after the controversy generated by the support of the presidential majority for his list? "I think the opposite", replies the latter, invited Thursday from Europe 1. And to point out the lack of anchoring of his opponent: "He abandoned Vaucluse, he lives in Paris."
