"JBS USA today confirmed that it paid the equivalent of $ 11 million in ransom in response to the hack," the corporation's press office said.

It is noted that at the time of payment of the ransom, most of the company's enterprises were in working order.

“This decision had to be made to prevent any potential risk to our customers,” said JBS USA CEO André Nogueira, noting the difficulty of making this decision.

Previously, almost all of JBS Food's beef factories were closed due to a cyberattack.

On June 4, JBS announced full recovery from the cyberattack.
