The Russian Border Guard has announced that it has released a fishing vessel belonging to the Wakkanai Fisheries Cooperative, which was captured by the Russian Border Guard last month off the coast of Wakkanai, Hokkaido.

The one that was released was the bottom trawler fishing boat "172nd Eihomaru" belonging to the Wakkanai Machinery Fisheries Cooperative in Hokkaido, which has 14 people on board.

NHK's interview team confirmed that the fishing boat departed from the port in southern Sakhalin at around 3:30 pm Japan time.
