A day before the opening of the G7 summit, guests were evacuated from a hotel near the meeting place due to a suspected explosive report.

Police received a report of a suspicious box at the Falmouth Hotel in Cornwall, England around 3:15 a.m. on the 10th.

The Falmouth Hotel is home to journalists from around the world covering the G7 Summit.

It is about 40km away from the Cabis Bay Hotel, where the leaders of the G7, Korea, India, South Africa, and India, etc., are staying.

US President Joe Biden also arrived at the Cabis Hotel the day before.

Immediately after receiving the report, the police evacuated the hotel guests and 100 users of nearby facilities and blocked access within a 100-meter radius.

Afterwards, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) inspected the box, but found that it did not actually contain a bomb.

When the police saw that someone was playing a prank, an investigation began and the suspect, a local resident, was arrested.
