“To accelerate the global introduction of vaccines, EP MPs have demanded the temporary removal of intellectual property protection for coronavirus vaccines,” the press release said.
The resolution was supported by 355 MPs, 263 were against, 71 MPs abstained from voting.
The European Parliament noted that voluntary licensing and technology transfer to countries are the most effective ways to accelerate global vaccine production in the long term.
