The two boys had undertaken to swim to the old port from the beach of Noëveillard, but had not given any news for two hours when the firefighters were called, shortly after 5 p.m.

Finally, the two boys were found unharmed on the coast, "about 300 m from their destination," said the fire and rescue service.

According to France Bleu Loire Océan, one of the two teenagers, aged 14, had been stung by a jellyfish.

The swimmers had "taken refuge on the rocks".
