  Since August 31, 2020, the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage have deployed a new round of special operations against cultural relics crimes across the country. Public security agencies in various places have acted quickly and attacked heavily to solve cases, chase fugitives, beat gangs, and hand over cultural relics. Various types of cultural relic crimes launched a fierce offensive, and achieved remarkable results in stages.

  Jiang Guoli, deputy director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security of China, reported at the meeting that the special operation has always placed the recovery of cultural relics as the top priority of the work.

Among them, Sichuan uncovered the “2004.12.13” theft of cultural relics from the Sichuan Provincial Library and successfully recovered the stolen celebrity book "Fish Goose Collection" and the first-class cultural relics of Tang Dynasty Buddhist scriptures; Fujian uncovered the “11.23” series of stolen submarine sunken cultural relics In the case, 846 pieces of Longquan kiln sea-fished porcelain in the Yuan Dynasty were successfully recovered.

The safe return of a large number of national treasures strongly demonstrates the determination of the public security organs to resolutely defend the country's cultural heritage. At the same time, it is of great significance for complementing the chain of historical research evidence and perfecting the narrative of ancient Chinese history.

  In recent years, the Ministry of Public Security has issued Class A warrants six times, and 62 fugitives from major cultural relics crimes have been wanted nationwide. Among them, two batches of 20 were issued in this round of special operations.

Under the overall planning and command of the Ministry of Public Security, local public security organs refined the arrest plan, implemented the arrest responsibilities, comprehensively adopted various methods such as offering rewards, probation and investment, investigation and investigation, etc., to fully carry out the arrest work.

So far, 62 A-pass fugitives have been involved in 58 cases. Among them, the fifth batch of 10 fugitives released in September last year have all been arrested, and the sixth batch of 10 fugitives released on May 11 this year has captured 8 people. .

  Jiang Guoli stated that the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage have continuously improved the "Joint Long-term Work Mechanism for Combating and Preventing Cultural Relics Crimes", deepened cooperation in the areas of information reporting, clue transfer, and cultural relic identification, established a national cultural relics crime information center, and built China's stolen cultural relics information center. The (lost) cultural relic information release platform collected more than 2,700 pieces of stolen cultural relic information and released more than 560 pieces of information, providing strong support for the fight against crime and the recovery of cultural relics. Soon after the platform went online, according to reports from the masses, the first-class cultural relic of the Anhui Provincial Museum was stolen in 1988, and the bronze 鬲 with animal face pattern of Shang Dynasty was successfully recovered.
