The man is the oldest of all arrested during the Trojan Shield operation and is now arrested on suspicion of a serious drug offense.

Chamber prosecutor Jonas Peterson tells Expressen that the man is suspected of a particularly serious drug crime during the period January this year until the arrest took place.

Part of a larger investigation

Monday's arrest in Småland is part of a larger investigation.

In addition to the 72-year-old, another eight people have been arrested and suspected of involvement.

- Two are suspected of serious drug offenses and seven are suspected of extremely serious drug offenses, including in Sörmland and Stockholm County.

The suspects are of both sexes and of different ages, says Jonas Peterson to Expressen.

Became known in the 80's

The arrested 72-year-old has previously been convicted of several cases of drug-related crime.

The man became known in the 80's when he, wearing a frogman's suit and oxygen tubes, made an unsuccessful attempt to swim ashore with 20 kilos of amphetamine.

SVT has sought chamber prosecutor Jonas Peterson.
