• An Ipsos poll for France 3 places the National Rally at the top of the voting intentions in the first round of regional in Brittany.

  • Credited with 20% of voting intentions, Gilles Pennelle is ahead of by a short head Loïg Chesnais-Girard, outgoing socialist president, and Thierry Burlot, LREM-center-right candidate (19% of voting intentions each).

  • In the second round, the list led by Gilles Pennelle would not, however, win.

Like any survey, it includes a margin of error and does not foreshadow the results in any way.

But seeing the National Rally leading the voting intentions for the first round of regional elections in Brittany is still a big surprise.

To conduct its poll, commissioned by France 3, the Ipsos institute asked the following question to 1,000 voters in the region: "If the first round of regional elections took place next Sunday and if you had the choice between the following lists, which is the one you would be most likely to vote for in the first round?

It is the list led by Gilles Pennelle which comes first with 20% of the voting intentions.

The leader of the RN is a short head ahead of outgoing socialist president Loïg Chesnais-Girard and Thierry Burlot, candidate supported by LREM, Modem and UDI, who are both credited with 19% of voting intentions.

Next came the LR list of Isabelle Le Callennec (14%), the environmentalist list of Claire Desmares-Poirrier (12%), the Insubordinate France list of Pierre-Yves Cadalen (5%) then that of Daniel Cueff (4%) ).

The poll also specifies that "for 51% of those questioned, this choice of vote may still change".

Another poll put Thierry Burlot in the lead in early May

If it turns first in the first round, the National Rally would not however manage to win on June 27, the evening of the second round.

According to the Ipsos poll, which imagined three quadrangular scenarios for the second round, Gilles Pennelle would be beaten each time, either by Loïg Chesnais-Girard or Thierry Burlot.

It could be placed at best equal (26%) with an environmentalist list and another list resulting from the merger between the PS and LREM.

In an Odoxa survey for

Le Télégramme

published on May 7, the list of the LREM-center-right candidate Thierry Burlot came out on top on the evening of the first round with 18% of the voting intentions.

The former vice-president of the region was then ahead of Isabelle Le Callennec (14%), Loïg Chesnais-Girard and Gilles Pennelle (14%) and the ecologist Claire Desmares-Poirrier.
