“In order to develop the chemical industry, I decide to accept the proposals of the Russian government and the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan on the transfer to the Republic of Bashkortostan of 38.3% of ordinary shares (634,174 pieces) of the Bashkir Soda Company joint stock company, which are in federal ownership,” the decree says.

In addition, 11.7% of ordinary shares (194,151 units) of the BSC are transferred from federal ownership to the trust management of the regional fund joint-stock company (Ufa).

In August 2020, Putin instructed the prosecutor's office to verify the legality of the transaction, as a result of which the state lost control over the assets of the BSK.

Later, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office reported that it had identified signs of abuse in the course of the transaction.

The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, said that the preliminary damage from the privatization of the Bashkir Soda Company is estimated at 35 billion rubles.
