After Sergio Busquets, a second player from Spain's European Championship selection tested positive for the corona virus with defender Diego Llorente on Tuesday evening.

National coach Luis Enrique subsequently added eleven players from the under-21 team to the parallel bubble.

FC Barcelona midfielder Busquets left Spain's training camp on Sunday because of his infection.

A new test round initially produced no new positive cases, but now Llorente, player of Leeds United, also appears to be infected.

National coach Enrique had already taken significant measures after the news about Busquets.

For example, he fielded Spain's under-21 team in the last exhibition game for the European Championship against Lithuania on Tuesday and created a 'parallel bubble', in which six newly called-up players train.

That parallel bubble was supplemented on Wednesday morning with eleven players from the under-21 team, who can hope for European Championship participation.

These are Álvaro Fernández, Óscar Mingueza, Marc Cucurella, Bryan Gil, Juan Miranda, Gonzalo Villar, Pozo, Brahim, Zubimendi, Yeremy Pino and Javi Puado.

Spanish players still get vaccine

Concerns in Spain were heightened because Health Minister Carolina Darias was unwilling to vaccinate the players from the European Championship squad before the tournament.

On Tuesday she came back to this under pressure from the Spanish Football Association and politics, after which the news about Llorente's positive corona test came out later in the day.

Spain will start the European Championship against Sweden on Monday.

Poland (June 19) and Slovakia (June 23) are the other opponents in group E. All matches will be played in Seville.

In any case, Busquets and Llorente are not in it against Sweden.
