In 1937, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Eighth Route Army advanced behind the enemy and established the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base, relying on Qiling Mountain in Pingding County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province.

The soldiers and civilians of the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area fought bloody battles on the Anti-Japanese Frontier and bravely resisted Japan. With the Zhengtai Railway and Ping-Liao Highway as the battlefield, the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area became the northwestern barrier of the Taihang Mountain, Shanxi, Hebei and Henan bases.

According to statistics, there were more than 300 revolutionary martyrs who died during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Pingxi alone. Thousands of young people actively participated in the Eighth Route Army.

After several generations of hard work, the red remains of Zhaojiacun have been preserved relatively intact.

Today, the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area Memorial Hall, Pingding Party History Exhibition Hall, Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Pavilion, Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area Monument and other red attractions have been built in Zhaojia Village, forming the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area Anti-Japanese Cultural Park. There are more than ten thousand tourists.

On the basis of continuous excavation of the red history and culture, Zhaojia Village relies on the natural landscape dependent on mountains and rivers to implement the improvement project of the human settlement environment to promote the revitalization of the village.
