President Moon Jae-in has ordered that measures be taken to comprehensively improve the barracks culture in relation to the case of an Air Force sergeant who made an extreme choice after reporting sexual harassment.

Blue House spokeswoman Park Kyung-mi said in a briefing today (7th), "President Moon cannot ignore the recent case that the people are angry about the military."

President Moon said, "We need to set up an organization to comprehensively improve the barracks culture beyond individual issues, and use it as an opportunity for fundamental change."

In addition, President Moon asked the National Assembly to promptly handle the pending amendment to the Military Court Act, saying, "Create a system to prevent such accidents from repeating."

"The amendment to the Military Court Act guarantees the independence of the military judicial system and the substantive right of military servicemen to be tried independently," Park explained.
