Mali: Colonel Assimi Goïta officially invested president of the transition

Colonel Assimi Goïta was in ceremonial dress to be sworn in as president of the transition in Bamako on Monday, June 7.

He assured that Mali would " 

respect its commitments

And it is rather moved that the new president of the transition Assimi Goïta took the oath.

He also now has the title of Head of State.

The first highlight of this ceremony was when he said the famous “I swear”.

He was then very moved.

He then announced his ambition to organize fair elections on schedule.

He added that " 

Mali will respect its commitments

 ".

Then, the other strong moment occurred when he announced in his speech the reduction of the standard of living of the State with details.

"

Two-thirds of the sovereignty funds of the Presidency of the Republic will be abolished

 ", that is to say 1.8 billion CFA francs per year, which " 

will henceforth be used for the supply of water and the creation of health centers for the most deprived populations throughout the national territory

 ”.

The president of the transition says he wants to change things.

In the room, Choguel Maïga,

tipped for the post of Prime Minister,

was seated in front as if his appointment were only a matter of hours.
