Russian nail salons that use live fish as part of their nail art are receiving criticism from netizens around the world.

According to foreign media such as the British Metro on the 4th local time, the nail salon released a video on the SNS titled 'Aquarium Nail Art' showing the nail art production process.

The nail salon staff spread the blue nail polish on a plastic plate and then rolled the hardened nail polish into a long cylinder shape.

Then, the cylinder was held firmly on the tip of the nail, filled with water, turned into a small 'water tank', and a small fish was placed in it.

The fish that went into the water tank made of manicure did not move much, but the fish that managed to breathe were released back into the tank after a while.

Netizens who saw the video were outraged, saying, "I can't understand and I don't want to understand", "Why the hell do I have to do this?" and "It's cruel and ignorant."

Recognizing the controversy, the nail salon added, "During the filming of this video, the fish were not harmed. All the fish returned to the pet store."

However, the voices of criticism grew louder, saying, "You mean that you brought the fish for filming and then returned them when they were no longer useful?" and "How can you say that you did not harm the fish even after releasing this video?"

In the past, the nail salon was criticized for using living life as a joke when it released an 'experimental' video of trapping live ants inside extended nails.

At that time, the nail salon side jokingly wrote, "If you want to know what happened to the ants, please watch the following video. By the way, the ants are alive."

In response to this, Elisa Allen, UK director of PETA, an international animal rights group, said, "It is really sad and stupid to use animals as 'accessories' and nothing less.

This is a 'news pick'.
