Two boys were seriously injured in a stabbing in Zoetermeer on Saturday evening, the police announced on Sunday.

The victims had multiple stab wounds and were rushed to hospital.

Police have arrested a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old suspect.

The stabbing incident took place around 11 p.m. near a skating rink in the South Holland city.

According to witnesses, the teenagers were attacked by several people with stabbing weapons.

The victims, a fifteen-year-old boy and a sixteen-year-old boy from the city, were found with stab wounds to their head, neck and chest.

Not much later, the police arrested a fifteen- and sixteen-year-old suspect at two different homes in Zoetermeer.

A seventeen-year-old Zoetermeerder was arrested for obstruction and insult.

The exact role played by the suspects in the stabbing is still under investigation.

Police do not rule out multiple arrests.
