Former US President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on the American infectious disease expert, Anthony Fauci, over his handling of the “Corona” epidemic, and demanded compensation from China, and also denounced an investigation currently underway regarding his finances, and hinted at his intention to run for the next presidential election in 2024.

In a speech at the Republican Party convention in North Carolina, Trump joined a group of Republican politicians who criticize Fauci for calling Americans to wear masks to prevent the “Corona” virus, and he has sometimes questioned the theory that the virus emerged from a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Trump described Fauci as "not a great doctor but an expert in pitching" for his frequent appearances on television, and Trump added, "He was wrong on almost every issue, and in Wuhan and the lab too."

Trump demanded that China pay 10 trillion dollars in compensation to the United States and the world because of the virus.

The former US president criticized a criminal investigation by the New York Attorney General's office, describing it as the latest attempt by Democrats to bring him down.

The investigation is looking into whether the Trump Organization submitted false real estate property reports to obtain loans and tax and economic benefits.

Trump has also hinted at his intention to run for the next presidential election in 2024, saying he is looking forward to that year, and Trump advisers say he is looking into the possibility of another presidential campaign.
