By signing the transit agreement, which was concluded with the mediation of the EU and the German government, Russia and Ukraine mapped out the way for this and gave an important signal regarding the security of gas supply to Europe, ”Seibert said.

He noted that he expects that "the joint package of agreements will be respected."
