According to the Blue House spokesperson Park Jiong Mi, Moon Jae-in apologized to his survivors and promised to thoroughly investigate the incident.

Moon Jae-in instructed his fellow Defense Minister Xu Xu not only to investigate the matter closely, but also to use this as an opportunity to improve the culture of the barracks.

Moon Jae-in said on the same day that he apologized to the people for the recent heart-wrenching deaths of officers and soldiers due to the bad habits of the military camp.

Moon Jae-in emphasized that for the human rights of officers and soldiers, as well as to enhance the morale of officers and soldiers and national security, bad habits must be eliminated.

Ms. Lee of the South Korean Air Force’s 20th Combat Flight Regiment reported in March that she had been sexually assaulted by Air Force Sergeant Jang and died on May 22.

Moon Jae-in has instructed investigative agencies to thoroughly investigate the case.
