"This year we are going to the Arcachon basin, we are going to stay in France like many people," says a passer-by.

While deconfinement is underway, reservations are exploding in the country.

Large house, cottage or campsite, all the lights are green for tourism.

"It will really be for fun, relaxation and good weather", confides another passerby.

And especially for the sun.

According to a study by the PAP site, a private hire company, the Var is the most requested department.

The success for holiday homes on the Côte d'Azur is in full swing.

30% more bookings compared to 2019

All destinations combined, reservation requests increased by 30% compared to 2019. Same upward trend for collective accommodation.

"Since the day after Pentecost things have been very, very strong", assures Jean-François Laloué, the commercial director of Eden Villages, a chain of campsites.

"We went from less than 30% of reservations in mid-April to 15% or even 18% of additional reservations today," he continues.

Result: its campsites are full for the month of August and largely full in June and July.

And to cope with the influx of reservations, Jean-François Laloué had to recruit.

The teams at its campsites have been reinforced by 20%.
