Morhad Amdouni won the 10,000m European Cup on Saturday in Birmingham (United Kingdom) by achieving the minimums for the Tokyo Olympics (July 27 - August 8), a goal missed by Briton Mo Farah for his comeback. on the track.

Reigning European champion in the 10,000m, Amdouni won the sprint race in 27:23:27 ahead of Belgian Bashir Abdi and Spaniard Carlos Mayo.

Already qualified in the marathon, Amdouni opens the door to try to double the 10,000m and the marathon at the Games.

British superstar Mo Farah, four-time Olympic champion, was back on the track after four years on the road, but he missed his bet by finishing only 8th (27: 50.54), within the 27 min 28 sec required for the Tokyo Olympics.

The qualification period for the Olympics ends on June 29.
