On the 4th local time, Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti addressed the people of the country, calling on all candidates and their Political parties strictly respect the wishes of the people expressed in voting.

  According to reports, Sagasti said: "After the election, I hope everyone can remain calm and wait for the official results from the electoral agency, especially the two candidates and their political parties, to strictly respect the wishes of the people expressed in the vote. ."

  The President added that he believes that the Peruvian people will respect the election results and cooperate to ensure that the transfer of power on the bicentennial of the motherland is orderly, peaceful and transparent.

  The President also stated that after the official results of the general election are announced, the government will summon the people who voted. Those who win the election must actively participate in the power transfer process and take over the government's baton from the first day.

  On June 6, Peru will hold the second round of elections. Voters will choose between Pedro Castillo, candidate of the Liberal Peru Party, and Keiko Fujimori, candidate of the People’s Forces Party.

The polling station will be the same as the first round of voting. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., voters need to abide by the safety protocol, use double-layer masks, maintain a safe social distance, and receive a temperature test when entering the polling station. Anyone whose body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees Celsius People will be denied entry.

  According to Piero Covito, head of the National Electoral Procedure Office, the first results of the election will be announced on the evening of Sunday, June 6, and will be updated within a few hours as the vote count progresses.

  Major General De La Torre, commander-in-chief of the Peruvian Army, revealed that more than 12,000 members of the armed forces will be deployed in Lima and Callao to provide security for the second round of elections to be held on June 6.

  According to Peru’s Constitution and election law, the functions of the armed forces include guaranteeing the right to vote, protecting election officials and guarding voting materials and documents.

  Peru held a new presidential and parliamentary election on April 11, but because no candidate received more than 50% of the votes, the two with the most votes held the second round of competition, and the simple majority was elected president.
