02 June 2019Brazilian star Neymar was accused of rape by an unidentified woman who reported him last Friday in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The events, according to what was reported by the Brazilian media, took place in a hotel in Paris on May 15. According to the complaint, the two met on Instagram. Neymar would later invite the woman to Paris and show up drunk at the hotel, where he would then rape her.

Neymar would arrive at the hotel "apparently drunk" and after talking and exchanging "caresses", he would become "aggressive", forcing her to have sex "against her will", the woman reported to the Sao Paulo police, according to what reported by UOL and GloboEsporte.

Brazilian police documents obtained by the Associated Press also report the allegations against the Brazilian footballer Paris Saint Germain.

Neymar rejects accusations: "Extortion attempt"

Neymar strongly rejects the rape allegations and speaks of "trap" and "attempted extortion". "I am accused of rape, it's a heavy word, very strong, but that's what's happening," said the Brazilian star in a video posted on Instagram. "All this surprises me, it's something very bad, very sad, because those who know me know what kind of person I am, they know I would never do such a thing", continues Neymar in the video, before showing "the whole conversation" had with the woman. "These are intimate moments, but you need to show them to prove that nothing happened," says Neymar. The player then devotes a few minutes of the video to show the alleged exchange of messages with erotic content, which took place via WhatsAapp, between the months of March and May,including photos of the young woman naked or in her underwear. "It was a trap and I fell for it, I hope it serves as a lesson for the future," added the player.
