The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced a visitor (African) to 10 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 dirhams, who thought that she would succeed in smuggling more than one kilogram and 180 grams of cocaine, which she hid in the bottom of her travel bag, but she had customs inspectors at Dubai Airport on the lookout. She bought the bag with drugs and did not know its contents, and she was referred to the Public Prosecution in Dubai and from there to the Criminal Court, which ruled her conviction.

An inspector of Dubai Customs said in the investigations of the Public Prosecution, that she was at the head of her work at Dubai Airport, and one of her colleagues suspected the accused’s bag while she was passing through the internal radiology department, so she was referred to her, and she asked the accused if she had anything she wanted to disclose, and she confirmed that she did not carry any prohibited items.

The inspector added that she opened the bag in front of the accused and found clothes and personal items. She noticed the accused's confusion, and her tension doubled when the inspector felt the bottom of the bag and felt that there was something hidden at the bottom.

Searching the bottom of the bag, three packages containing cocaine were found. Confronting the passenger, she denied her knowledge of the drugs, claiming that she had bought the bag a day before leaving her country and did not know its contents.

In addition, the Criminal Court issued the same ruling against an Asian who had hidden in his bowels 70 capsules containing about 50 grams of heroin.

Investigations by the Public Prosecution indicated that the accused was on his way to enter the country through Dubai Airport on September 25, and the customs inspector stopped him and asked him if he possessed any contraband, but he denied. In turn, he was taken to the hospital to empty his bowels. In the end, the accused admitted that he had brought drugs into the country with the intent of delivering them to a person.
