North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made his first appearance in a month as he presided over a meeting of the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea.



The Korean Central News Agency reported today that "the first meeting of the Politburo of the 8th Party Central Committee was held at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee on June 4," and "Comrade Kim Jong-un presided over the meeting."



This is the first public activity of Kim Jong-un since the news that he had a commemorative photo shoot with an art team member of a military family was reported through the state media on the 7th of last month.



In this meeting, North Korea decided to convene the 3rd plenary session of the 8th Party Central Committee at the beginning of this month.



Chairman Kim said, “The smooth development of national projects is subject to many challenges and restrictions due to the adverse subjective and objective conditions and environment created, but the ideological enthusiasm and self-reliance Many projects planned by the struggle ethos are being promoted with a promising outlook,” he said, evaluating the current state of policy implementation this year.



"At this point, it is necessary to convene a plenary session of the Party Central Committee and accurately summarize the overall state of the country's work in the first half of the year to devise additional measures to correct the biased problems in time.



At the meeting, the issue of reorganization of the departments of the Party Central Committee and the agenda to be raised at the plenary session were also discussed.
