The incident began on Wednesday when, according to local newspapers, a commercial dispute erupted between two people, one of whom belongs to the "Sadia" family and the other to the "Al-Awamer" family in the village of "Abu Hizam" in the Naga Hammadi district of the governorate.
The dispute escalated, and the second shot the first, killing him, so that the family of the victim decided to take revenge, which did not happen in the usual way in the past so that the perpetrator himself or a member of his family was killed, but rather happened in a very horrific way.
Innocent people killed
The son of the dead man gathered his cousins and took up arms in order to take revenge. Someone told them that a microbus belonging to the Al-Awamer family had left Nag Hammadi, so they waited for it at the entrance to the village and then sprayed it with bullets using 4 automatic rifles.
However, by examining the victims’ identity, it was found that the microbus included 16 people belonging to 5 different families, including children and women, according to the eyewitness, and is not limited to the Al-Awamer family only.
dangerous precedent
Indiscriminate shooting at a passenger car is a dangerous precedent for revenge incidents, especially with the killing of women and children, as societal and popular legacies prevent the killing of women in revenge incidents, and keep them out of the cycle of revenge.

Several armored cars, formations, soldiers and central security officers were deployed in the various streets of the village for fear of renewed clashes.
The police also reinforced their presence in Qena University Hospital and Nagaa Hammadi Police Station, to protect the bodies of the dead and injured, until the forensic doctor completed the examination of the dead, and the authorities issued burial permits.
The apparent calm dominated the village, interrupted only by the women and children's wailing over the separation of their families in the accident, which was heard in more than one place, as the dead were from 5 different families.
