In India, where the death toll is pouring out due to the spread of Corona 19, a scene of a Corona 19 victim trying to be dumped into a river in broad daylight is shocking when a citizen camera caught it.

Indian media, such as NDTV and The Hindu, reported on the 31st that the police had arrested two men who took part in the crime by introducing related videos posted on social media (SNS).

According to the report, the video was filmed on the 28th in the Balaampur district of northern Uttar Pradesh.

If you look at this video filmed by a citizen passing by in a car, on the bridge of the Rafti River, a tributary of the Ganges, two men put their bodies on the railing and worked on something.

One of the two men was wearing a hazmat suit.

NDTV reported that "it appears to be a scene in which a body was taken out of a transport unit."

According to local authorities, the body was a COVID-19 victim and the two men were relatives of the victim.

VB Singh Balampur, head of the health center, said, "As a result of the initial investigation, the patient was hospitalized on the 25th and died on the 28th.

The police started a formal investigation, and later arrested the men on charges of abandoning the body.

Hindus, who make up 80% of India's population, prefer cremation, while 14% of Muslims mostly bury their bodies.

However, with the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 deaths, bodies are often buried or abandoned in the Ganges River.

As funeral costs, such as the price of firewood for cremation, soared, families who could not afford to pay for them simply threw their bodies away.

There have also been several testimonies that an ambulance driver, etc., threw a Corona 19 body into a river from a bridge.

In connection with this, more than 90 bodies believed to be victims of Corona 19 emerged in the Ganges River, and thousands of bodies were found shallowly buried in sandbanks along the river.

Authorities officials said the sandbar bodies appeared to have risen at high tide and were buried shallowly, NDTV reported.

In India, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the low 3,000 range has been reported recently.

It peaked at 4,500 on the 19th and is gradually decreasing, but it is still the highest level in the world.

In particular, some point out that the actual number will be several times higher than the government tally because there are so many deaths that are not captured in the statistics.
